Edmilson Dove of Kaizer Chiefs recently played in a DStv Premiership match against Sekhukhune United in Polokwane, South Africa. Dove, who is currently participating in the Africa Cup of Nations with the Mozambique national team, has caught the attention of scouts who see him as a player who could potentially stay at Kaizer Chiefs even after his contract expires. The 29-year-old has been a key player under interim coach Cavin Johnson, who has been deploying him as a left-sided centre back.
According to reports from SNL24.com, Kaizer Chiefs’ official media partner, the club’s chairman, Kaizer Motaung, expressed his pride in Dove representing both Mozambique and Kaizer Chiefs. Motaung acknowledged Dove’s quality and experience, and stated that if there is interest from other clubs, they will consider any offers. However, they are currently confident that Dove will remain with the club as they still have a long way to go with him. Motaung mentioned that Kaizer Chiefs have an option on Dove’s contract, so there is no immediate reason for panic.
In addition to Dove, there are other players whose contracts are also set to expire in June. These players include Njabulo Ngcobo and Sifiso Hlanti.
