After leaving Soweto giants Orlando Pirates in 2018, Ayanda Gcaba faced challenges in finding a long-term professional home. His career took him through Platinum Stars, Royal AM, and Jomo Cosmos, but opportunities to play at a high level were scarce. As he waits to make his next move, he briefly worked as a coach in the development at Randburg Football Club.
Currently not employed, Gcaba often returns to Joburg from Durban to connect with people and immerse himself in the football environment, which he finds more engaging and fulfilling than his current base in Durban.
