On April 26, 2024, the CAF Champions League semi-final 2nd Leg match between Mamelodi Sundowns and ES Tunis at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa was interrupted by heavy rain. The second leg was evenly poised at 0-0 when lightning started, and the referee decided to call a halt to the match around the 20-minute mark. To add to the situation, a couple of the stadium lights went out before the teams were sent to the change room. Currently, Rulani Mokwena’s charges are trailing 1-0 on aggregate, but they need to win by a two-goal margin to advance during regulation time.
