Desiree Ellis, the coach of the South Africa women’s national team, Banyana Banyana, recently attended the squad announcement and send-off gala dinner at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Guest House in Pretoria, South Africa. The event took place on 23 June 2023.
During that event, the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations-winning coach was invited to the State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday night and renewed her partnership with Volkswagen South Africa. As part of the partnership, Ellis received the keys to a dark grey VW Tiguan Allspace, a luxurious seven-seater valued at over R666k.
Her collaboration with VW SA also involves her continued participation in the VW Train4Life initiative and the VW Vaya Cup youth football tournament. Ellis expressed her gratitude to Volkswagen South Africa in an Instagram post, thanking them for their ongoing support and another year of contributing to youth soccer development and empowering girls.
Additionally, Ellis was one of the high-profile guests at the State of the Nation Address, as shared on Banyana’s social media pages. The event marked her red carpet moment.
