The two sides were evenly poised at 0-0 after the goalless first-leg. The Egyptians were more attacking as the home side after their laid back approach six days ago. The home side looked lively early on with attempts from Amr El Soleya and Ahmed Abdelkader saved in the opening 15 minutes. Goalkeeper Aliou Faty was busy, making fine saves to deny the home side.

Faty also stopped a header from Rami Rabia just before the break. On 58 minutes, the visitors thought they had scored, but the Video Assistant Referee ruled out the goal for a handball. The home side got the breakthrough in the 68th minute as Mohamed Abdelmonem headed home a corner from Ali MaĆ¢loul. Mazembe responded with a triple change, but the home side added a second goal with three minutes to play.

Al Ahly sealed the win with a third goal in second-half stoppage time to secure a spot in the final.
