Anthony Modeste made a move to the Egyptian team at the beginning of the season after departing from Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer. According to former Al Ahly player turned pundit Ahmed Shobeir, the club has decided against extending the French striker’s contract.
Shobeir explained in an interview with local radio broadcast SportFM that there is a clause in Modeste’s contract stating that it would be automatically renewed if he played a certain number of games. However, the club is not keen on this as it would entail a significant payment, possibly exceeding $1 million.
Shobeir added that the coming days will shed light on the relationship between the player and the club.
