Real Madrid took the lead against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, but eventually, City equalised and the match went into extra time and a penalty shootout. Real Madrid qualified for the semi-final stage with a 4-3 victory on penalties, joining Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain in the last four. Borussia Dortmund advanced past Atletico Madrid, while Paris Saint-Germain beat Barcelona over two legs.

Bayern Munich will face Real Madrid in Germany on 30 April and play the reverse fixture in Spain a week later.
