On April 09, 2024, in Pretoria, South Africa, the CAF Womens Olympic Qualifier Final Round – 2nd Leg match took place between South Africa and Nigeria at Loftus Versfeld. Ajibade Rasiteedat of Nigeria was seen with the ball during this match. Notably, it was a special occasion for Lebohang Ramalepe, who celebrated her 100th appearance for the national side.

Additionally, Sinoxolo Cesane was back in the starting line-up after missing the first leg. The Super Falcons previously secured victory on South African soil in 2010 during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. However, this time, they did not require a victory to seal their Olympic ticket.

The first half of the match did not provide any clear-cut openings at both ends, with possession evenly distributed. Consequently, Banyana coach Desiree Ellis made a double change five minutes after the halftime break, with Noxolo Cesane and Nomvula Kgoale coming off for Sinoxolo Cesane and Hildah Magaia. Unfortunately, these changes did not have the desired effect, as Banyana struggled to create significant opportunities at the Nigerian goal in the latter stages of the second half.

The match concluded in a goalless draw, which was enough for the Super Falcons to book their spot at the Olympic Games with a 1-0 aggregate win over two legs.
