Siyabonga Ngezana, a player for FCSB, recently saw a significant increase in his transfer price. FCSB owner Gigi Becali rejected an offer of €5 million (±R103 million) from Ligue 1 side Lorient. This offer was below the club’s evaluation of €7 million (±R144 million) for the player, and the payment terms were not satisfactory to Becali.
The reports indicate that Lorient proposed paying the transfer fee in installments, which Becali did not agree to. This situation is of interest to Chiefs, as they hold a 10% sell-on fee, guaranteeing them at least R14 million if Ngezana is sold for €7 million (±R144 million). This is more than the initial price they sold him for.
Although Lorient made the best offer they could for Ngezana, it is uncertain if they will present a new and improved offer after their initial attempt was rejected.
