The Morning Show sports host has a part in Mzansi Magic’s new football fiction, “Champions,” described as a “gripping telenovela.” “Champions” follows Sne Modise, who breaks gender norms and is given the responsibility of leading her family’s football club, Soshanguve Giants F.C.
In the “A Moment With…” segment by Tshedza Pictures, fans were given a behind-the-scenes look at Mhlongo’s acting process. Rare footage showed him preparing to shoot a scene and discussing the emotional impact of the storyline on him.
Opening up, Mhlongo shared, “There’s triggers here and there within the storyline which takes me back to those days or moments where I get to reminisce. Sometimes, I get to go back and say ‘Mmm, did I actually have to deal with this?’
