Ritchie has been without a club since leaving Maritzburg United at the end of last season. Maritzburg were relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship, and Ritchie did not go down with them, leaving the club along with players such as Alfred Ndengane, Karim Kimvuidi, and King Ndlovu. During this time, he has kept himself busy with CrossFit and his business that he opened when he joined the Team of Choice.

Ritchie mentioned that he competes in a few CrossFit events, enjoying the competitive nature of the sport and finding it to be something he likes to do. Despite not performing as well as he did in football, his business is holding its ground, indicating it might be the start of a new journey for him. Additionally, he has taken up coaching young players, which is a passion of his.

He emphasized the importance of family, mentioning that spending time with his son is a priority for him. As someone who enjoys working with youth players, Ritchie is considering obtaining his coaching badges in the future, citing the costs involved as a potential barrier but expressing a strong desire to pursue this path.
