The Nedbank Cup quarterfinals provided exciting action over the weekend, as Mamelodi Sundowns, Stellenbosch FC, Orlando Pirates, and Chippa United all advanced to the semifinals. The games were captivating and sparked much discussion. It was particularly surprising to see Stellenbosch FC secure a 4-0 victory over SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns being taken to penalties by University of Pretoria, a team from the Motsepe Foundation Championship. AmaZulu FC also delivered an impressive 4-2 win against Orlando Pirates.
Chippa United appeared revitalized under their co-coaches, Thabo September and Kwanele Kopo, who are working closely with Morgan Mammila in their technical team. The draw for the semifinals has been completed, and I would like to extend my congratulations to the four teams that have reached this stage and wish them the best in the upcoming matches. Additionally, I want to wish Mamelodi Sundowns the best of luck in their first leg semi-final match against Esperance Tunis on Saturday night.
