Dr. Madala “Bafo” Kunene, a legendary musician, has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Having been honored with honorary doctoral degrees in music by UKZN in 2023, Dr. Kunene is using his platform to urge men to get checked for prostate cancer before it becomes too late. At 77 years old, the musician from KwaMashu, north of Durban, shared with *Daily Sun* that he discovered his prostate cancer at a late stage, after experiencing difficulty urinating for two days.
This personal experience has motivated him to advocate for early prostate cancer screenings among men.
