Leading agents are currently facing difficulties obtaining footage of Premier Soccer League matches to meet the demand for showcasing local players abroad. Many agents have expressed concern to Soccer Laduma that this could negatively impact the chances of Bafana Bafana players being scouted internationally. The PSL has not yet granted approval for the video service company Wyscout, owned by American company Hudl, to access footage of matches since the season began in August last year. As a result, international scouts are unable to see the players in action. This has led to frustration for agents who have received inquiries from clubs in the MLS, France, and Belgium about the players they are interested in, but are unable to progress the discussions without access to match footage. One agent with strong connections in Europe highlighted the significant challenge that the lack of footage poses, stating that without access to full match footage, there is no way to move forward.
