Andile Jali of Moroka Swallows was reportedly owed salary, and the former Bafana Bafana star was injured when the club failed to honor two fixtures during the festive season in December. The player sought an urgent application for reinstatement, but Moroka Swallows’ coach, Thobejane, stated that Jali did not have the right to work for the club and suggested that he explore other teams. Renowned agent Mike Makaab, who represents Jali, announced that they were contesting the decision to release Jali due to his injury.
However, after Jali approached the Dispute Resolution Chamber, his case was struck off the roll, but he still has the option to appeal. The basic principles are now he has a mountain to climb because remember if there are procedures he should’ve followed and didn’t, he has to go back and rectify that which is going to be even hard for him to do. So, I’m not saying he has no option, I’m saying he has no claim against Swallows.
Moreover, the agent clarified that Jali was injured and not available for training or games when he was dismissed. Despite this, he expressed confidence that the issue would be resolved. The club’s coach, Thobejane, stated that Jali did not have the right to work for Moroka Swallows and suggested that he explore other teams.
He mentioned that Jali wanted the NSL DRC to grant him a final interdict against Swallows, but Thobejane emphasized that Jali would face difficulties in making his case. Lastly, the club’s coach emphasized that Jali would face challenges as he had missed following certain procedures and would have to rectify that, which would be hard for him to do.
