Only two of those players, Paseka Mako and Vincent Pule, are still at the club, making up 32% of the success stories from that time. Some of the unsuccessful signings during that period included Thamsanqa Sangweni, Phetso Maphanga, and Brazilian defender Caio Marcelo.
It raises the question of how many of these failures were due to poor scouting or other reasons. For example, one player signed a three-year contract and had two starts in 11 games in his first season at Bucs.
In his second season, he had five starts but only played a total of 530 minutes.
