There is speculation that top clubs in the country, including Real Madrid and Barcelona, are interested in the performances of a certain player. However, the new United co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has hinted that his time at Manchester United may not be over. Following his recent stake purchase in the English giants, Ratcliffe stated that a decision on the player’s future would be made after a thorough evaluation of his situation. This player, who was once an England international, had been arrested in January 2022 on suspicion of attempted sexual assault.
Consequently, he missed a significant amount of football before returning to action this season. Ratcliffe expressed that the player is keen on staying for another year, but emphasized that it’s ultimately United’s decision to make due to the change in ownership. He also mentioned that the player’s style of play would be well-suited to Barcelona, but stressed that the decision ultimately rests with Manchester United. The player’s contract at United is set to expire in 2025.
