The DStv Premiership match between Moroka Swallows and Mamelodi Sundowns took place at Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. Unfortunately, Mamelodi Sundowns were defeated due to the away goals rule against Wydad Casablanca.
To better acclimatize their players, the Tshwane side flew out of the country earlier in the week to prepare for their upcoming match in Tunisia. Sundowns defender Aubrey Modiba shared insights into the club’s preparations and their hope to gain an advantage in the tie before the second leg match at Loftus Versveld Stadium on 26 April.
Modiba mentioned that their preparations had been going well, revealing that the team left South Africa on Tuesday and arrived on Wednesday. They conducted an activation session before their game on Saturday and had a full training session upon their arrival.
Their focus now is on being fully prepared for the game. Sundowns are participating in the semifinals again and are determined to progress further this season.
However, they face a tough task against Esperance, and Modiba acknowledged the challenge, expressing hope for a good game. Sundowns will face an unfamiliar 9:00 pm kickoff at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi, making their upcoming match even more challenging.
