The Premier Soccer League and Multichoice, along with the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), have been running the Player Transition Programme. The programme aims to help professional soccer players transition to life after their playing careers. Daniel Akpeyi, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, and Lee Langeveldt shared their experiences with the programme.
Akpeyi and Mphahlele, former Kaizer Chiefs players, expressed the challenges of balancing training and studies, and the valuable insights they gained from the classes. Mphahlele found the Artificial Intelligence class intriguing, while the finance class was an eye-opener. Langeveldt, one of the oldest players in the class, expressed a preference for in-person learning.
The players expressed gratitude to PSL, Multichoice, and GIBS for the opportunity to participate.
