The 27-year-old, who plays for Chippa United in South Africa, sustained an injury in the Super Eagles’ round of 16 victory over Cameroon. Nwabali made his international debut in 2021 in a 4-0 friendly defeat to Mexico and was only recalled ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
He played in a friendly match against Guinea leading up to the tournament and has been picked from the start in all four of Nigeria’s games in the Ivory Coast. The goalkeeper has conceded just once in his four appearances and is now confirmed to be available for selection against Angola by Nigeria’s media officer Babafemi Raji.
“He trained yesterday, he trained the day before but yesterday was more intense, so it simply means he’s available for selection today,” said Babafemi Raji, as reported by *Channels Television*. “For him to have trained yesterday rigorously with the rest of the team, he’s very much available for selection.”
