Bongani Zungu was substituted just a few minutes after being brought on as a substitute during Sundowns’ 3-0 victory over the Rockets in the DStv Premiership. Rulani Mokwena implied that Sead Ramovic, the TS Galaxy boss, had instructed his players to target Zungu. This alleged targeting may have been influenced by a previous incident involving Zungu and Bernard Parker. In the past, Zungu had made a controversial tackle on Parker, which resulted in a serious injury.
Following this incident, Mokwena raised questions about the tackle on Zungu and insinuated that TS Galaxy had been shown footage of Zungu’s previous tackle on Parker. Zungu, in response, shared a photo on his Instagram story of himself wearing a moon boot on his injured foot while watching a match. He also shared a message expressing disappointment at the lack of media support and pledged to always stand by the truth. He also quoted Mo Salah by saying, “If I talk, there will be fire.”
In further support, Rulani Mokwena expressed his well wishes for Zungu’s recovery and reiterated his support for the player and his family. The situation between Zungu, Sundowns, and TS Galaxy seems to be escalating, with both sides expressing their perspectives on social media.
