Luke Fleurs tragically lost his life earlier this month in a failed hijacking at a petrol station in Johannesburg. His funeral was attended by the Amakhosi family, friends, and a large number of football supporters. The procession was marked by touching songs in honor of the former SuperSport United starlet. Fleurs was a victim of a car hijacking and was shot on 3 April in Honeydew, Johannesburg.
The assailants drove away with his red VW Golf 8 GTI. A dedicated team was formed to investigate the murder, leading to the arrest of six suspects, who have appeared in court for a bail hearing. The funeral started at the Fleurs family home in Westridge and ended at the New Apostolic Church in Tafelsig. Friends, family, and football supporters, including many Chiefs fans and players, came together to support Fleurs’ family during this difficult time.
Residents and soccer players bid farewell to Luke Fleurs, marking a sad loss for the community and the football world.
