Solomons is enjoying living out his boyhood dream of playing for the Soweto Giants, despite almost pursuing a different career path. The ex-Moroka Swallows player, who has made 12 appearances for Amakhosi in competitions this season, is thrilled to represent a club of Chiefs’ stature and feels privileged to inspire and help his community. He started playing football at a young age and has fond memories of his early years in the sport. Despite initially focusing on athletics, he eventually became serious about pursuing a career in football at the age of 18 or 19.
Solomons, now 25, considers himself a late bloomer in football and shared his experiences growing up playing in a local team in his community. He also revealed his pre-match meal preference and his ideal roommate during Chiefs travels, Yusuf Maart. He acknowledges the responsibility he has to inspire and help his community, as nobody from his community has ever played for such a huge club like Kaizer Chiefs. Although he may be one of the fastest players in the DStv Premiership, he also has a background in athletics, participating in sprints, long jump, and triple jump events in his youth.
