The 32-year-old official did not award what many believed to be a goal during Masandawana’s recent match against Yanga at Loftus Versfeld. This happened when a Stephane Aziz Ki strike in the 58th minute was ruled to not have completely crossed the goal line. As a result, the Tanzanian team filed a complaint to CAF about the match result and requested action be taken against the individual who ruled against giving the goal. While CAF deliberates on the matter, FIFA has announced that Beida will be one of the referees from Africa officiating at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
The north African official was also in charge of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final between Ivory Coast and Nigeria. Beida is among the 12 referees who will represent the continent during the competition.
